Does this Louis Vuitton Price Increase matter?

Yes it does – it means the products are becoming more expensive before the Christmas holidays. I also think increasing the price of the hard sided luggages is a sign that they expect to sell more of these larger ticket items around Christmas time.

Why increase the Keep All now though?

The Keep Alls are very popular and they see a chance to squeeze more profit out of consumers as we prepare for the busy Christmas shopping period.

Here is a Hermes checklist I am using for my upcoming Paris trip in a few months. I am using this to keep my on track for trying to score a Birkin or Kelly. Even if I don’t score, I think this checklist could help you if you are trying to.

• Vaccine Pass – You need a vaccine pass to access most public buildings in Paris & France
• Bank card in Euros – Save $$$ by having Euros on your debit card. Put USD as a backup on another card and tell your bank you are travelling so they don’t block the card
• Fully charged phone – Make sure your phone is fully charged as sometimes the Parisian boutiques send texts telling you to come to your appointment early
• Time allotted – Make sure you have enough time to visit the stores in case you don’t get an appointment. 2 days should be enough time.
• 3 bags in a broad range of colours – Have a list of 3 bags in a defined but broad range of colours i.e you want a Kelly 25 in Craie, Nata etc so the SA has an idea of what you are looking for.
• Business card – Take a business card with you in case you hit it off with a SA who may want to sell you other items (they ship for VIPs and big spenders)

Where to buy hard to get Birkins, Kellys and Constance bags – Hermes St Barths, Hermes Cancun, Hermes Istanbul and much more

Let’s go through some of the places where you can buy a quota bag with minimal spend. You might need to do 1:1 spending or maybe they will offer you a bag without massive spend as a walk in.

Hermes St Barths

This store is in St Barthelemy in the West Indies. It’s known for being a relaxed boutique with stock. It closes for some time of the year and gets busy around November and December.

Hermes Cancun

This boutique gets talked about a lot on TikTok as people say it is a bit easier to score a quota bag as a walk in or with minimal spend. You can be even more successful here if you have an SA.

Hermes Istanbul

This boutique is friendly towards tourists who are looking for quota bags. You can score with minimal spend depending on stock. Ask for larger bags.

Hermes Lyon

The Lyon shop is very popular on social media because it is said to be somewhere where you can get a Birkin without a lot of spend. Ask for larger bags here like the Kelly 32 and Birkin 35 as this boutique is competitive.

Hermes Marseille

The Hermes Marseille is said to be a boutique that is not as competitive as other stores in France. You could try for larger sizes here or see if they are open to give you a bag outright.

Chanel restricts the future sales of the Coco Handle & Classic Flap – VIPs not affected

Chanel have decided to restrict the sales of 2 of their classic bags, the Classic Flap and the Coco Handle. This means you can only buy 1 CF or 1 CCH per year per country. Chanel know purchase history as well. This is going to put a lot of pressure on their seasonal bags like the Trendy CC, the Deauville and the Mini with the top handle.

I think the Mini with the top handle is going to be the new ”unicorn” at the brand in light of these new restrictions. I also think eventually this bag will be put under restrictions as more people will come and buy it.

I also believe this means the Mini with the top handle will probably see another price increase in early 2022 as Chanel knows people will turn to this bag.

I also believe this means that the new Coco Handle designs will become highly coveted and I also think the Coco Handle won’t be a massive priority since they won’t be making as many of them. They will be making this bag as exclusive as possible.

SLGs are affected but I don’t have more info for right now. Fine jewellery is said to be affected though to me I feel like this is a red herring since this is a category that is important to Chanel.

Ready to wear is not affected – you can buy as much as you want. I don’t think VIPs or VVIPs will be affected by these restrictions unless they are resellers.
