Is NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick Actually Good?

NYX Liquid Suede launched to a lot of hype and press a while ago. I was on the fence about it because I have not had a lot of luck with NYX products in the past. I think NYX is good if you are on a budget and if you need makeup that gets the job done, but it isn’t necessarily the brand for people who love super detailed makeup looks. 

The swatches from ASOS above showcase that NYX has made improvements to the colour choices that they had on offer by going deeper with better pigment options. I think NYX, like many beauty brands, is realising that makeup customers come in different skintones and they are finally waking up to this fact.

The brighter shade such as Orange County and Life’s a Beach need to be used after you have put a lip scrub on your lips. This is because of how flaky your lips can be even if you are trying to take care of them. Brighter lipstick colours show up flakes more, which can be embarrassing if you are trying to do a bold lip colour.

The darker colours look better if you don’t pile on the Liquid Suede onto your lips. They can look heavy and chunky if you put too much on. With darker shades like Foul Mouth, less is more.
